Turtles for Sale | Sydney NSW
Kellyville Pets has a huge range of native reptile species available and can cater for beginner reptile keepers through to experienced reptile enthusiasts. Australian freshwater turtles make a fascinating and unique pet. They have a very specific set of care requirements and may require more maintenance than other types of reptiles. Most species will grow to approximately 30cm-40cm in shell size and can live for up to 50 years or more!
Did you know there is no such thing as a 'Penny Turtle'? All small hatchling turtles will grow very large and require a spacious tank to live a long and happy life in captivity. All hatchling and baby turtles available at Kellyville Pets are at least 12 weeks old before we let them go to new homes. This is to ensure they are feeding and growing well and to give them the best chance possible of adjusting. Turtles are also solitary creatures and are best housed on their own. Keeping more than one turtle in a tank together long term, often leads to aggression and dominance within the tank.
Kellyville Pets has a range of turtles available in store including: Eastern Long Neck Turtle (Chelodina longicollis) and Murray Short Neck Turtle (Emydura macquarii). Kellyville Pets is also home to one of the only Albino Murray Short Neck turtles in the world.
All of our turtles available for sale come with a 14 day Health Guarantee and a 7 day Cooling Off Period as part of our standard policies and procedures. Purchasing a reptile in NSW requires you to hold a current reptile keepers licence. A reptile license costs approximately $60 for 2 years and any Class 1 reptile species can be kept on this permit. A companion reptile keepers licence can also be obtained costing $45 for 5 years, however only one individual animal can be kept on this licence. Reptile Licences can be obtained online at http://www.licence.nsw.gov.au/new/categories/parks-wildlife or in store.
At Kellyville Pets we are committed to the highest standards of animal welfare. Matching owners with the right pet and providing customers with unsurpassed advice, service and selection of products is our drives everything we do. This is our way of ensuring our animals have the best possible start in their new home with you.
Turtles that you will not find available to buy or for sale in Australia include Box Turtles, Red Eared Slider Turtles and Tortoises. In Australia it is against the law to keep exotic reptiles (non native to Australia). This is to ensure the protection and safety of our amazing native species of reptiles.
Please also note that we do not ship reptiles interstate. We are situated about 45 minutes drive from Sydney CBD.
