Common morphs
Hypermelanistic
Hypermelanistic blue-tongues are the result of a colour mutation which causes excessive dark pigment production (melanin) in the lizard’s skin. Hyper melanistic, or ‘black’ blue tongues are almost jet black all over with piercing dark black eyes and are highly sought after in the reptile hobby.
Albino
Albino blue-tongues are the result of a naturally occurring mutation which causes a lack of colour pigmentation (melanin) in the animal's skin. Albino blue-tongues are generally completely white or yellow and sometimes have shades of lavender or purple with bright red eyes and are highly sought after in the reptile hobby.
